VANDA 'Oriental Suprai'

This orchid is a hybrid of V. Oriental Spirit x V. Suprai.

They have large lemon yellow flowers with radial brown spots. The flower spikes arise from the base of the leaves and can contain upto 10 flowers which could last up to 8 weeks.

In ideal conditions Vandae could flower 2-3 times a year and the flowers last from 1-2 months. They can tolerate extreme heat conditions up to 35 Deg C or more.

Vandae have 90 or more species and numerous hybrids. Lots of sunlight, like 3-4 hours a day will increase the flowering potential.

A hanging vanda basket is a real feast for the eyes as they are unconventional plants in the garden. It is important to allow the roots to hang out freely from the basket for better results.
